22 Regulars Hit 30 Home Runs in 2026. Only 11 Stole 30 Bases..
Of 133 MLB hitters with 502+ plate appearances through Sept. 27, 2026, 22 reached 30 home runs and 11 stole 30 bases. Just 3 did both; 15 went 20-20.
In the 2026 regular season, 22 MLB hitters with at least 502 plate appearances hit 30 or more home runs. Only 11 stole 30 or more bases. Among the same group of everyday players, 30-homer power was twice as common as 30-steal speed.
The figures come from the official MLB Stats API, as loaded into RankFantasy, Veraino’s fantasy-sports ratings site, through September 27, 2026. For a fantasy manager looking ahead to next spring, they show how few hitters supplied both categories at once.
22 vs 11hitters with 30+ home runs against hitters with 30+ stolen bases, out of 133.
15hitters reached both 20 home runs and 20 stolen bases.
3reached both 30 and 30: Pete Crow-Armstrong, CJ Abrams and Elly De La Cruz.
Who is counted
We counted every hitter in the data with at least 502 plate appearances through September 27, 2026. That is a floor we chose, about 3.1 plate appearances for each of a team’s 162 games, and it leaves 133 hitters out of the 630 in the table. Part-time players and anyone who missed a long stretch are not in the count. A home run or a stolen base is counted as the MLB Stats API records it.

Every hitter with at least 502 plate appearances, 20 or more home runs and 20 or more stolen bases, 2026 regular season through September 27. Sorted by home runs plus stolen bases. Team is the club the player was listed with at the last data refresh.
Eight hitters reached 40 home runs and four reached 40 steals. Crow-Armstrong is the only one on both lists, with 45 home runs and 41 steals. The most steals by any hitter in the data was 46, by Chandler Simpson. The most home runs was 45, shared by Crow-Armstrong and Kyle Schwarber.
Where the pattern is weaker
Speed and power are not opposites: 15 hitters did both at the 20 level, and 4 of the 11 who stole 30 bases also hit at least 20 home runs. But the other 7 did not. Simpson stole 46 bases and hit none, and Josh Naylor, Otto Lopez and Jake McCarthy each stole 30 or more with 15 home runs or fewer.
The pull goes the other way for pure power. Of the 22 hitters with 30 or more home runs, 15 stole fewer than 10 bases, and only 5 stole 20 or more.
What this data does not tell you
- How many points a steal or a homer is worth. Leagues score the two categories differently, so a count of each says how scarce they were, not how valuable.
- Next season. One year of counts does not predict the next one, and a player’s role, health or team can change.
- Hitters under 502 plate appearances. Anyone who played part of the year is outside the count, including players who might have reached 30 of either with a full season.
- Why the gap exists. The data records what happened, not why. We make no claim about league-wide trends in stolen bases.
How we ran the numbers
Source: season hitting statistics from the MLB Stats API, stored by RankFantasy’s MLB ETL for the period March 20 to September 27, 2026, and read on October 19, 2026. The table holds 630 hitters; we kept the 133 with at least 502 plate appearances. Each count was made twice, once by filtering the rows in a script and once with server-side count queries, and the two agreed. A separate pass over the MLB Stats API as of October 19, which includes the final day of the season, returned the same counts of 22, 11, 15, 3 and 4, with 135 hitters over the floor instead of 133.
